Remembering to Pray!

1 Timothy 2:1-6 "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men......(and read on)

Today as I settled in at my desk,  I was greeted by my co-worker like every other morning. I have only been at this new job a little over a month and folks are still getting to know me. So today my co worker asked me if I had any children, and I told her I have an 11 Y.O stepdaughter that lives in Virginia.
Of course being that VA just suffered an earthquake and hurricane practically in the same week, it was proper them to ask if they were OK!
When I told her that everyone was safe, she began to tell me how Vermont of all places suffered worse than anyone. That the flooding from Hurricane Irene literally swept houses and bridges off of the land. I felt bad because I turned off CNN after the storm had passed my hometown and knew nothing of how terrible the aftermath was in other places.
Instantly the holy spirit took me back to a few weeks ago, when I was laying in the bed watching the news and how seemingly out of nowhere, I began to think about the state of Vermont.
In my mind I was seeing highways and how they looked in comparison to every other state. I thought to myself, wow, I wonder what it would be like to live so far up north in a place like that!
After my co-worker headed back to her office, I quickly looked up the devastation online, and some scenes reminded you of Katrina!
I just shook my head and began to repent because that day that I began to ponder on Vermont, I should  have started to pray.
We may not know why certain places or people cross our hearts and our minds, but we must know to pray. We must think it not for nothing!
We never know whats getting ready to transpire and the word clearly tells us to pray, FOR ALL MEN! Not just some, not just who you like as a person but ALL!
It could be your enemy that crosses your heart, pray for them.
It could be a certain place, just pray.
I repent for missing it. I repent for not being on my post and interceding for Vermont.
Brothers and sisters, let's open our ears, our hearts and our eyes so that we can be on post as we should be!
In these last days intercessory has to turn up!
You never know what prayers can prevent.
It's true, prayer can change things!
For God says in James 5:16 the prayers of the righteous availeth much!
TIME TO PRAY!
